Rock 155 ~ Hostess Rock ~ Cambria Ca ~ Dec 24 2015

This is such a pretty rock with its natural gray color and purple sealife attached to it. I had to  take photos from different angles of different sides to show you how pretty it is! It is a solid wedge, and is approximately a 60-60-60 triangle.

Rock 153 ~ True Native ~ Cambria CA

Today on my walk in Cambria at the shore, there were 3 young men tossing stones at a large rock in the water. I asked what their target was and it seemed to just be the general big rock. So I threw some. Missed by a mile.
This rock is from that area. measures approximately 2 1/4".

Rock 148 ~ Carrara Marble Rock ~ December 17 2015 ~ Claremont CA

Many years ago, a sculptor named John Fisher arrived in Claremont to create a marble sculpture on site in a local park. I watched him almost daily. I listened to the chink and song of the marble as he chipped at it. Children came in groups from local schools to learn about this process. It was fun. Today my friend Doug gave me a piece of that rock that Mr. Fisher brought here from Carrara Italy. It measures approximately 4 1/2".
Below my rock photos for today is a video of the Carrara marble quarries.

Rock 144 ~ Skin Deep Rock ~ Dec 13 2015 ~ Claremont CA

You can tell a lot by the surface of many things in this world -- people, plants, food...rocks. But you can't tell everything. There have been times I wanted to know more about someone, or a plant, or even the inside of a chocolate iced cake....If I had the desire to know everything (or close to it) about this rock, I would crack it open...but I prefer to just remain mystified this time.
Measures approximately 2 1/4". So says my desk measuring tape.

Rock 142 ~ Yipes Stripes ~ December 11 2015 ~ Claremont CA

Rock 140 ~ Mystery Traveler Rock ~ December 9, 2015 ~ Claremont CA

Just like the rocks that travel mysteriously in the desert. I found this rock today with its evidence trail. This rock has skid marks on two sides at least -- it may have tumbled while traveling. It looks like the other traveling rock had an accident, if I am reading the lower evidence trail correctly.
Measures approximately 2 1/4".
