Rock 139 ~ Wedge ~ December 8 2015 ~ Claremont CA

I found this in the street today. It wasn't even in the crosswalk. It was just in the street, and could have gotten run over. I brought it home and washed it. I don't usually wash the rocks I collect for the posts, but decided to perk this one up a bit. And it did. Measures approximately 3".

This is a really pretty and smooth rock. It has a lovely dark gray, lighter gray, white, and rust. It would probably be slipper when wet. Measures approximately 2 5/8". 

Rock 137 ~ Veiny ~ Claremont CA ~ December 6 2015

A very lovely red colored rock with lots of white veins running through it. Measures approx 2 1/2" long.

This is a true Claremont California rock. We call them potatoes here. But this one is more like the "whopper" that took two hands to handle. Measures approximately 5" across and weighs approximately 1.8 lbs.

Found this little gem in a fairway in the 'hood. Love it. It is so back and smooth and round. Approximately 1 5/8". 

Rock 134 ~ Native Granite ~ December 3 2015 Claremont CA

I am pretty sure this is a native rock to this area. The second photo shows a little dirt from it. Measures approximately 2 inches across and 2 inches tall.

I don't know where this rock came from. I found it in Claremont but it doesn't look like a native. It has a step up in its formation. It is approximately 2".
